This is the famous Black Poplar that Blundell pictured at various times throughout his life at the Cavenham Mill
This is the Black Poplar pictured from the upstream side. The presentation inscription is dated 1945.
This is entitled "Wind in the Willows", but probably shows the famous Black Poplar in full leaf. The willows are in the background.

This picture is called Breckland Road, featuring the trees that Blundell loved to etch in drypoint.
This drypoint picture of Pines at Icklingham was made by local artist Alfred Blundell. A drypoint is begun like an etching on a steel plate, but there is no acid etching process used. The resulting plate may be printed several times to make an edition of perhaps 50 prints. On the back of this un-numbered example is inscribed, "To Jack from Alfred Dec 25th 1935", probably a present from Blundell to his friend Jack Copeland.
This picture was recently sold on E-Bay and an email from the seller included this note: "We were given to understand from the people we purchased the two pictures from that the artist (Jack Copeland) is the ‘Jack’ referred to on the back of the Blundell lithograph (it is inscribed “To Jack, from Alfred, December 1935) and that Jack Copeland, who was a relative of theirs was a friend, possibly a student, of Blundell."

For the first few years that Alfred Blundell lived in the Millhouse, the adjacent watermill was still working. The miller was called Pelham Mace, and here he is seen clearing a hedgerow.

The Bend of the River is undated and is typical of Alfred Blundell's output over many years.
Snowscene is dated to 1940, by the owners, West Suffolk Museums Service. Oil on canvas 59x44 cm..

This oil painting of "China on a shelf" shows a different look at still-life painting.
Ever ready to try a new medium, Blundell liked to etch on glass. As well as etching objects like this glass goblet, he etched glass panels for Culford School in his time teaching there.
This superb drypoint etching of Temple Lock at Icklingham was posted by Dave Burt on Facebook page 'Rural West Suffolk in old photographs' in June, 2020. The inscription reads, "Senior art prize 1938. Awarded to H G Burt Form IV art. Presented by the artist." Alfred Blundell was Art Master at Culford School at this time.
