The artist here is not known, but this panel dates to around 1700. It depicts a time when the Cattle Market was located on the Cornhill, handily adjacent to the Butchers' Shambles, where the beasts could be slaughtered and the meat sold.

Another picture from around 1700 shows the view of the Market Cross, and Cupola House.

Moyse's Hall contains several Bunbury prints and drawings. This picture of Lotty Long is rather less grotesque than many of Henry Bunbury's caricatures. A street trader, she sold buns, gingerbread and mince pies around Bury.

This picture by Rose Mead is one of several pictures of Bury's market painted by Rose Mead.

Rose Mead was a trained artist, but she returned to Bury, after studying in London, to nurse her ailing mother.

This gallery houses a rotation of themed displays. This display shows a small part of the costume collection.

In late 2011, ready for the Olympics in 2012, this display of items from past Olympic Games was part of the celebrations.
